WASHINGTON SETS NEW 36 GM RECORD

YEAH BABY!!!  Washington did it.  Dallas racked up 56 points in 36 games eclipsing the 1925/26 Ottawa Senators record of 52 points.  But Washington is really turning up the heat having won their last 9 games now.  They beat Dallas out.  In 36 games Washington put up 58 points.  That's unreal. 

This is not a record many people will recognize or understand.  Why 36 games?  Back when the record was established by Ottawa, the season was only 36 games.  It probably wont be on the Forbes List and I doubt any newscasters will cover it.  But after setting so many "We Suck" records, its nice to see Washington have such a fantastic year.

FORMLABS GETS PLUG IN ANTMAN

I guess here too.  There is a FORMLABS 3D printer on the work bench of Dr. Pym in his basement work shop.  It has a square white base and is amber(?) orange clear top.  Left side of the frame.
 
I watch movies over and over. When I say I have seen a movie 50 or 100 times, I aint lieing.  Some days my wife and I talk in movie clips or say a line from a movie during conversation.  Inside jokes are always the best.

Hunger Games a Rip Off???

I sat back and watched The Hunger Games last night.  I don't jump on the band wagon for movies.  The more hype it gets, the less likely I am to see it.  I never saw The Lion King, ET or any Star Wars movies after the 2nd one.  Too much hype.  The last time I saw an overhyped movie I was sorely disappointed because everyone has built it up to unrealistic proportions.

I am left with the conclusion that the Hunger Games movie is a rip off.  Its an elaborate version of The Running Man starring ARNIE with a few deviations.  Hunger Games is an ok movie, but the concept is far from original. 

Whats with movies these days?  Is our society that lacking in imagination that the only new movies we can come up with are redone versions of past movies or different takes on the same movie?

Style and Fashion

Style and fashion.  Everyone wants to be in style and fashionable.  Except me. 
When I was in High School, I bought a leather coat with fringes.  everyone laughed.  I could care less.  In my 20's, I bought a Lambskin coat with a fox fur collar.  Warm coat, but I looked like a pimp.  I didn't care. I liked the coat.

Now I bought a floor length trench coat.  My wife humored me and said she liked it.  A friend of mine came over and laughed in my face.  With the support, my wife confessed she didn't like the coat on me.  Hmmmm....WELL...

Tough Titty said the kitty.  Never one to care what others think of me, Im off to do some shopping.  And Im wearing my coat.  My wife is going to have to get used to it.

I don't care for fashion or style.  I make my own and if people don't like it then too bad.  They didn't pay for it and they aren't wearing it.

The only thing that matters is...I LIKE IT!

STAR WHAT???

I saw the original Star Wars.  I saw the 2nd Star Wars.

How many have they made since?  Who bloody cares.

I don't own anything Star Wars.  I never thought Carrie Fisher was hot. 

George Lucas is a FRAUD.  He was inducted into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame in 07 as the creator of the 3 3/4" action figure.   Something he KNOWS he didn't do and yet he still took credit for it.

Obviously Im in a minority group.  The latest movie has destroyed opening day records.  And people love it and that's great.  Everyone should get every penny of value when it comes to entertainment.

My definition of value doesn't include Star Wars and hope this post doesn't deter anyone from seeing it.  People are raving about the movie.  So enjoy yourself, take a friend.  Have some popcorn for me.

Im going to go watch some Star Trek reruns.

WASHINGTON/DALLAS TIE 90 YR OLD NHL RECORD

Its official.  Both the Washington Capitals and the Dallas North Star have tied a 90 year old NHL record.  the record set in 1925/26 was set by the Ottawao Senators for scoring 52 points in 36 games.

As of this writing, Washington has played 33 games and Dallas has played 34 games.  Dallas has Chicago and St Louis currently 2nd and 3rd behind Dallas, so those are also all 4 pt games.  So Dallas will have a tough time of it. 

Washington has 3 games to hit 36 played with games against Montreal and 2 against Buffalo who is 3 points from being dead last in the league.  Montreal is dropping out of the sky like a brick with Price injured.

Both Dallas and Washington can break the record with one more win...the only question left is...

Who will set the new record?  Odds favor Washington.

With the WASHINGTON CAPITALS  owning every "WE SUCK" record in the NHL, it only seems like a matter of time before they break a few.

YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST...

The Washington Capitals are on pace to break a 90 year old record set by the 1925/26 Ottawa Senators.  The record is for the most points in 36 games which is 52. 

Washington currently has 48 points with 31 games.  In first place in the league and healthy...it doesn't look like anything will actually stop them.  If they go to 36 games with out a loss in their next 5 games, they could set the new record as high as 58 points.

This is one of those little known facts that only us team uber geeks would know.  I think I should enlighten Stouffer.  He's an ardent Caps fan as well but I doubt he knows.

Dobers Den has come up with a few new words for the English Language.  We would like to encourage the use of these words if for no other reason than a good laugh.

Guardians of the Galaxy Got Me Going Goth

Quite the alliteration actually. 

First it was The Matrix, then it was Van Helsing...and now its Guardians of the Galaxy.  Now I cant take it anymore and broke down.

I always wanted a floor length duster/trench coat.  But Neo's from the Matrix, while it looked good on him, just wasn't my style.  Classic Western dusters from behind make one look like the Pope.

But I managed to find a middle ground and jumped all over it.  A Goth adaptation of Van Helsing's trenchcoat.  With my boots on it will clear the floor by 2"

Its coming from the UK.  Handmade.  I have learned to be patient with my toys because there is only so much time I can devote to playing.  But I have too admit, the thought of wearing this coat is really driving me and now for the first time in a long time...Im finding that 3 weeks is an unbearably long time to wait for delivery.  And  the delivery time will be hampered because of Christmas...I picked a good time to buy it. 

I almost bought the GotG Starlord Overcoat, but in the movie the coat is down to his ankles.  The one they sell is what they call Full Length but only comes down to the knees. All that does is make your pants dirty because everything deflects off the coat and lands on the unprotected part of the pants leg.

I always been a head banger.  Jeans, leather, boots.  Goth was not my style.  Odd I would turn to it for style as I approach 50.  lmao.  With all that's going on in the world, I hope I don't freak people out.

Now I need to find the right hat.  I cant believe Im saying this out loud.  lmao.  Recently I went to the store and the clerk didn't recognize me at first.  After the 3rd look he said in all the years I had been in his store, he had never seen me without a baseball cap.  And somehow I got a feeling a baseball cap just wont fit with this ensemble.

WASHINGTON CAPITALS

The Washington Capitals.  When they hired Barry Trotz last year, I said the team would improve, but probably not win the cup.  If they did, great, but I was doubtful.  Barry Trotz has done exactly as I said he would. He filled in holes and tweaked the team.  It didn't need much.  ust an expeirnced hand.  Boudreau was brought up from the minors and had no real NHL experience.  He has since gone on and coached some gifted teams, but has never really done anything to establish himself as a coach that can get a team going.  With Trotz at the helm...This year...Washington Capitals WILL win the Stanley cup.

If there is a record for "We Suck", the Washington Capittals own it.  Least points, least wins...They were having so many goals scored against them in the 70's they experimented with "White Pants".  No Kidding.  The logic was, the puck was black, so were the pants and the goalie was losing sight of the puck because it was the same color.  The following year they went back to the white pants.  Most losses, most road losses, highest goals against.  There's more but its simply too painful.  The missed the playoffs by one point several seasons before finally making the playoffs in the 82-83 season. 

A solid team in the 80's they were always a dollar short.  Phillie kicked their ass one year.  But they did manage a 100 pt season.  heck they could (if my math is correct) eclipse 120 pts this year.

With their share of past superstars, Rod Langway, Peter Bondra, Olaf Kolzig.  And how about the invisible man...Jagr.  he signed for a 7 yr 77million and disappeared.  Now he's in his forty's and putting up unbelievable stats for Florida.  The Washington Capitals have never won the Stanley Cup.  The got swept by Detroit in 97-98 IIRC.  Which will never happen again thanks to new NHL divisions and grouping.  Both Detroit and Washington are now in the same Conference. 

Now with Alex Ovechkin and the talented Braden Holby in net...the Washington Capitals have matured under Trotz.  Holby as a rookie goaltender tied a record set by Ken Dryden,  And he's young.  Alex Ovechkin is the most prolific player in the NHL to NEVER have won the Stanley Cup.  He's now in his 30's.  He's on a mission.  As of today the Washington Capitals could eclipse 120 pts for the season.

The most ironic thing about the Capitals is that by name and location, this team represents the Capitol of the United States of America and yet sports close ten Canadian players with only 6 Americans on the team.

Dallas is playing hot...so is L.A. out west.  It looks like Montreal and the Rangers will be Washingtons immediate ooponents barring injury.

I been a Washington fan since 88.  This year is FINALLY our year.
