Edmonton…A Dirty Ugly City

I have complained ad nauseum about Edmonton to well...EDMONTON...AND NOTHING CHANGES...SO...lets complain to the world. WHY is Edmonton a dirty city? Primarily...its a WINTER city that has NO snow removal policy. No...they say they do...but the truth is much worse...EDMONTON has a WINDROW policy. For all intense purposes...from a laymans pov...it looks like the snow removal budget is nothing more than a slush fund for other projects they can utilize at their whimsey. EDMONTON windrows their snow...People dont move their vehicles. And while it is with some degree of satisfaction to see a vehicle plowed in...it only adds to the problems. Edmonton has a SNITCH policy...they do NOT enforce bylaws unless someone complains...actually...the city hires snitches specifically...ive seen the application...so...Edmonton has no bylaw on parking beside a windrow. which takes up 3 feet of each side of our SKINNY residential streets. With a heavy snowfall...this now makes it in some cases...IMPOSSIBLE for busses or Emergency response vehicles to get to your house...putting your life AT RISK. Afew years back...the City had all the snow picked up off the street and dumped in our own front yard...every 2nd house...i have the pctures...ill add them later. They want you to take pride in your home then dump snow sludge on our front lawn. Anyways...these windrows stay up all winter until they melt...all the road dirt and salt...piled up on the side of the road. Nothing sexy there. Edmonton IS an UGLY DIRTY city.
